Argyroderma Plants for Sale – Unusual and Rare Living Stones

Argyroderma plants, also called vingervygie (finger mesemb), bababoudjies (baby’s bottom) or jakkalsniertjie (jackal kidney) are beautiful miniature succulents (Living Stones). Argyroderma species are small, single headed compact plants. They are native to South Africa and the northwestern parts of the Western Cape. They are found usually in regions with quartz or gravel based soils.

Argyroderma Care and Propagation

Argyroderma species can best be grown in a soil mix based on pumice. We have composed a special Lithops & Mesembs Soil. This soil mix has extremely good drainage properties which is extremely important for species like Argyroderma and other Living Stones. We keep our Argyroderma plants almost dry in summer and water in early spring and late autumn. The minimum temperature for Argyroderma is around 5C. Propagation can done from seeds or by dividing older multiheaded plants. We propagate all our Argyroderma species from seed. Do not overwater.
