Xerosicyos danguyi – Silver Dollar Plant – Cuttings Care
Place your Xerosicyos danguyi cutting upright in good quality Cactus and Succulent Soil after the cut wound has dried. The soil must be dry or almost dry to prevent rotting. Use low light and temperatures of 18-24 C. After 2-3 weeks you may give some water to encourage root formation. In the meantime the cuttting likes to be sprayed with water once every two days to prevent dehydration. If you are rooting in a more humid environment like a greenhouse then this is usually not needed. Roots normally form in 4-6 weeks depending on your conditions.
Xerosicyos danguyi – Silver Dollar Plant – Plant Care
Rooted plants and cuttings need plenty of warmth, sun and water. They are not true succulents but more something in between normal plants and succulents. They like bright light but not direct sunlight (experiment a bit with this). Temperatures of 22-28 C are best when they are actively growing. Give them some cactus fertilizer each month when they are growing. Water them only when the soil is dry again or almost dry. Keep Xerosicyos danguyi around 15-18 C in winter and keep almost dry.

Succulent Grow Lights for your Xerosicyos danguyi
All Succulents need bright light to grow well. They will stay more compact and get brighter colors. Good lighting is also important for plant health and photosynthesis. In a greenhouse or on a windowsill facing south this usually isnt an issue. If you can not offer bright light for your Xerosicyos danguyi plants, we highly recommend using Succulent grow lights. Among all the other cutings, Xerosicyos danguyi was in the worst condition, I received 2 cuttings, one is really bad, don’t know if it will survive. Other one in a little better shape. I’m sad , because this plant I wanted the most, and it is the reason why I made an order.
Other plants from my order (calisia and succulent cuttings) looks good. Calisias came in a tiny pots, and they are in the best condition.

Just one question, it was in transit for 4 days shall I plant them in its potting mix or leave them couple of days on window sil as its mentioned in the instructions? Thank you.

Rooted cuttings / plants like this Xerosicyos danguyi may be planted right away. Give some protection from direct sun at least the first few weeks.
