Conophytum calculus is a cute little living pebble. It resembles a small egg and is commonly called Marble Buttons. This Conophytum is native to southern parts of Namaqualand and Cape Province in South Africa.
Conophytum calculus Seed Germination
Do not cover Conophytum calculus seeds with gravel or soil or only slightly. Day temperature for germination should be around 20C, night temeratures between 10-15C. Do not give direct sun but some shade. Conophytums usually germinate within 2 weeks. Maintain high air humidity untill the seeds have germinated. Start to ventilate daily after germination and remove the cover completely after 2-3 weeks.
Conophytum calculus seedling care
Make sure the soil stays moderately moist untill the Conophytum seedlings get bigger. After 2-3 months you can start letting the soil dry completely between waterings.Conophytums are winter growers. They show most growth in early spring and late autumn. Do not water to much in summer.
