Always germinate seeds in containers first, never directly on a roof. You will get general seed germination instructions with your order. Sedum seeds are tiny and you should not cover the seeds with soil or only slightly. When you have small plants, after a couple of years, then you can transplant them to your roof. How many you need depends on the distance you want between each plant. I would recommend 10-15 cm. A quicker way to plant a roof or plot with hardy succulents is by using cuttings and small plants which you can find in our Hardy Succulents section.
