Bought three, they arrived rooted, approx 5 cm long, healthy plants, in a box that had been crushed and broken on one side by courier. Plants were okay inside, thankfully. BUT sadly, every single leaf-joint is full of life-draining mealy bugs. A few weeks later the plants are looking sickly where I have not gotten them all. I have been manually removing them, using insecticide and isopropyl alcohol to remove. It is such a shame. The plants are in quarantine and will be for a long time with such a serious infestation. But, I think they will be alright.

Thank you for your feedback. Can you please sent some pictures of the plant. This plant also forms white whool at its nodes which can be mistaken for mealy bugs. We do not use insecticides for many reasons. Best wash the plant in a solution of green soap and the bugs are gone. I appologize if we did not check correctly.

Beste Allard, het was onmiskenbaar wolluis, kijk maar eens goed naar de moederplant 🙂 Je ziet duidelijk het verschil (wolluis is lichter en ‘plakkeriger’) en bovendien zat er ook een los beestje in, duidelijk te herkennen aan het schildje, dus enige twijfel wordt weggenomen.
Begrijp me niet verkeerd, de rest van de bestelling was prima in orde en het was nu prima te behandelen, maar als je het niet in de gaten hebt goed om te weten, want voor je het weet raken je andere planten aangetast.

ok. bedankt. ik hou het in de gaten. Gelukkig kan je wolluis zo met een kwastje verwijderen. Excuus dat we deze gemist hebben dan.

Stekjes waren nog stevig, maar er zat helaas wel wolluis in dat ik eerst moest behandelen.

Lana, bij deze plant is dat wol. Dat vormt deze soort uit zichtzelf. Kijk maar eens goed.

Nice group of cuttings with roots just starting, lovely colour even in the leaves themselves. that combination of pink/purple stem and grey/purple leaves, stunning!

Received two strings, in very good condition, 5 days ago, both have grown a little, not as much as the green S. herreianus and S. rowleyanus I received at the same time, but still visible growth of both roots and green/purple parts.
Great packaging and labeling.
